Does Biotin make you lose weight?

I have heard that Biotin can work miracles for your hair and nails, now more and more reviews seem to suggest that they have lost quite a bit of weight. Please enlighten me. Are there any dangers in taking 5000mcg since the recomended daily intake should be about 100-300mcg Which other supplements help weight loss
